British Superbikes: More Races Added For 2009

Selected British Superbike championship rounds will have three big bike races instead of the usual two in a move by Race Direction to fill out the action-packed card even more for 2009.In a statement from BSB bosses MSVR, the extra races were revealed. The statement said: At a meeting held in September 2008 between the BSB manufacturer and team liaison groups and MSVR it was agreed by those present to consider a three race format for the BSB class at future, selected events. This was passed to MCRCB for approval which was granted.

MSVR have selected the events at Brands Hatch on Aug 7/8/9 and Oulton Park on Oct 9/10/11 where the BSB class will have three Championship races over the weekend. The most likely format will be one race on Saturday and two on Sunday. It is envisaged that full broadcast coverage will be in place for the Saturday race(s).

At all other championship rounds there will be two races for the BSB class which will result in a twenty-six race championship at twelve events.
