Josh Brookes Heads To Japan For Suzuka 8 Hour Test

Brooks to ride Suzuka 8 hour endurance race in Japan

josh-brookes-suzuka-8-hourHM Plant Honda’s Josh Brookes left Knockhill after his double podium last weekend and was straight on a plane to Japan for testing ahead of the Suzuka 8 hour race later this month.

Josh is teamed up with Chojun Kameya on the Dream RT Sakurai Honda, and this will be the first opportunity for him to test ahead of the event on 26 July.

Josh has raced at the event before, when he finished sixth, back in 2005.

Josh said, “I got off the flight to Osaka and then had an hour bus ride to get the Kintetsu express to Shiroko which took two hours. I then got a taxi to the track by 14:30, which was just in time for the final session that started at 14:50.

In that session I was able to do a 2m:11.5s lap which was a second off my team-mate’s time. Then today was wet so I wasn’t able to achieve much except a bit of rain tyre practice, which is something I have been missing out on so far in BSB – not that I’m complaining!”
