Kawasaki recall 2010 models of Z1000 for hose inspection
Kawasaki has issued a recall of some 2010 model year Z1000 machines including the ABS variants
On affected machines, the left front brake hose may make contact with the brake disc during extremely heavy braking. This can damage the hose leading to a fluid leak which could cause brake failure and result in an accident.
The repair consists of inspecting the front brake hose and replacing it if required. Additionally, the front brake hose position will be adjusted on each affected machine to prevent contact with the brake disc.
The inspection and adjustment will take around 15 minutes to complete, but up to one hour if the brake hose also needs to be replaced.
Customers with machines in the affected range are being contacted by letter and advised to contact their local franchised Kawasaki road bike dealer who will carry out the necessary work at no cost.
If customers have further questions about the recall, they should contact their Kawasaki dealer or call Kawasaki Motors UK Customer Service department on 01628 856750.
